I am the Director of the Smithsonian Institution Archives. I oversee the operations of the Archives, set policy and direction for our programs, and occasionally blog about things I care about like open access, digital preservation, and the fabulous Archives and its staff.

The Smithsonian Institution museums, of course.
Collection Favorites
My favorite collection at the moment is our vast photographic collection that documents the visual history of the Institution. An estimated 3 million images remain in need of preservation, description, and open access - a big job looking for angels.
