Includes the records of H.W. Kale, former Vice President and later President (1990-1995) of the Colonial Waterbird Society (CWS); as well as the correspondence of Keith L. Bildstein, former Vice President of CWS, and Robert S. Baker, former Treasurer. Some records date back to when CWS was known as the Colonial Waterbird Group (CWG). CWG was formed at the North American Wading Bird Conference on 16 October 1976, and renamed CWS in 1986.

The records largely consist of correspondence, information pertaining to CWG/CWS annual meetings, minutes from Board and committee meetings, information on CWS publications and workshops, and membership files.
