DESCRIPTIVE ENTRY

These records include the administrative records for the Barney Studio House for the years 1959-1994. Materials include correspondence and memoranda; repair and renovation records; curatorial files; tour records; publicity files; Barney Trust Fund records; and architectural drawings for the renovation and possible sale of the house. Also included are records pertaining to the Alice Pike Barney Collection for 1951-1982, including correspondence and memoranda; loans of the collection; miscellaneous inventories; and photographs of works by Barney not in National Museum of American Art collection. The oldest material dates to c. 1890, and was kept as part of Jean L. Kling's research files.
