INTRODUCTION

HISTORICAL NOTE
The Coleopterists' Society was founded at Dallas, Texas, in 1968 by members of
the Entomological Society of America, who were anxious to promote the study of
Coleoptera.
DESCRIPTIVE ENTRY
These records document the formation and operation of the Society; efforts to
transfer the Coleopterists' Bulletin from Purdue University to the Society;
and production of the Checklist of North American Coleoptera and the
Coleopterists' Newsletter.
