DESCRIPTIVE ENTRY

This accession includes records documenting activities of the James Smithson Society, which was once under the Smithsonian Associates Development Program. Since 1990 the James Smithson Society has been part of the contributing membership office of the Smithsonian National Associate Program. Materials consist of history files, brochures, dinner programs, press releases, information about life nominations, newsletters, enrollment forms, grant proposals (guidelines and books), funded projects information, year-end appeals, letter samples, contribution ledger, membership data cards, weekend files, and Quad/Castle fund information.
