Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of materials which document two summer undergraduate programs. This first program was a summer workshop on Indian culture organized with the American Institute of Indian Studies. Its purpose was to provide an opportunity for 12 undergraduate students from American academic institutions to go to India to gain a balanced understanding of the history, culture, religious institutions and peoples of India. The second program was a summer workshop in Tunisia organized with the Center for Maghrib Studies in Tunis (Centre d'etudes maghrebines a Tunis). This program brought together 15 undergraduate participants for an intensive 3-week workshop on Tunisian culture. Materials include correspondence, programs, surveys, newsletters, schedules, itineraries, applications, letters of recommendations, and school transcripts.
