Summary:

This accession consists of records which primarily document the exhibition "Nobel Voices: Celebrating 100 Years of the Nobel Prize," which explored the motivation and vision of Nobel laureates and the history of Alfred Bernhard Nobel and his prize. The exhibition celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Nobel Prize and was developed in collaboration with the Deutsches Museum Bonn in Germany and the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery, with the cooperation of the Meetings of Nobel Prize Winners in Lindau, Germany. The exhibition featured personal video interviews of laureates, candid photographic portraits and original artifacts. Additional exhibitions and programs documented include, "Science in American Life," "Lewis Latimer: Renaissance Man," "Reinventing the Wheel: The Continuing Evolution of the Bicycle," and "The American Presidency: A Glorious Burden." The records include the correspondence and memoranda of Lemelson Center staff members Arthur P. Molella, Director, and William Eastman, Project Historian. Materials also include zip disks, CDs, and DVDs.
