Summary: | This accession consists of materials documenting the National Design Awards, an annual award presented by the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum (CHNDM). An award is presented in each of several categories which may change from year to year and the winners are chosen by a panel of well-known designers. New judges are chosen each year. Materials include correspondence between CHNDM staff, judges, nominees, and award recipients. Materials also include lists of winners, copies of licensing agreements, checklists of submitted materials, and, for some nominees, biographical information. Materials submitted with the applications become part of the CHNDM collection. |
Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of materials documenting the National Design Awards, an annual award presented by the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum (CHNDM). An award is presented in each of several categories which may change from year to year and the winners are chosen by a panel of well-known designers. New judges are chosen each year.
