Summary

Traces the history of the Silver Hill Facility in Silver Hill, Maryland, with special attention to the role of Paul E. Garber in the creation of the facility. The collecting policy of the National Air and Space Museum is considered along with the role of Silver Hill in restoring famous aircraft. Attention is then turned to several famous aircraft which were restored at Silver Hill. A brief history of the individual planes and their pilots is given as well as a description of the restoration process. Paul Garber provides an afterword.
