Summary

The exhibition "Red, Hot & Blue! A Smithsonian Salute to the American Musical" opens at the National Portrait Gallery. The exhibition, jointly organized with the National Museum of American History, contains 450 images, posters, set models, costumes, audio/video clips and other rare memorabilia from American Musicals on Broadway and from Hollywood. The exhibition was curated by Dwight Bowers and Amy Henderson, and will continue through July 6, 1997.
