Summary

Charles Greeley Abbot, Director of the Astrophysical Observatory, is appointed Assistant Secretary to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Dr. Frederick W. True. In addition to administrative duties, Abbot also will be in charge of the Smithsonian Library, the International Exchange Service and the Astrophysical Observatory.
