Arriving on the Mall from the Hirshhorn home in Greenwich, Connecticut, Henry Moore's "King and Queen" is gently lowered into place on its pedestal in the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. Onlookers applauded the crane operator's skill. "King and Queen" was delivered to the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden on August 5, 1974. The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden opened on October 4, 1974.
