Summary

Steven Cameron Newsome (1952-- ) is named director of the Anacostia Museum. He succeeds the founding director, Dr. John Kinard. Newsome was educated at Trinity College and Emory University, and had previously served as the Chief, Office of Cultural and Educational Services, Division of History and Cultural Program, Department of Housing and Community Development, in Annapolis, Maryland. From 1986 to 1991, he was also Executive Director of the Maryland Commission on Afro-American History and Culture.
