Summary

This collection, also referred to as the Rock specimen catalog, is related to a larger collection consisting chiefly of photographs of landscapes and plants taken by Joseph Francis Charles Rock on collecting trips to China and Tibet from 1922-1929. The specimen catalogs and field notes that comprise this collection were written by Rock during his botanical collecting efforts in China, Tibet, Thailand, Assam and Myanmar. The field notes consist of seven bound volumes and one document box containing three unbound field books. Five bound volumes and one unbound volume document Rock's work collecting botanical specimens in China and Tibet. Two bound volumes and one unbound volume document Rock's collecting efforts in China, Thailand, Myanmar, and Assam, a current province of India.
