Summary

This collection is composed of three field books belonging to Elmer Ivan Applegate documenting his botanical collecting and observing endeavors from 1897-1898. Applegate's botanical research at this time was particularly focused on the trees and shrubs of Oregon. Specimen numbers 2001-2905 are represented in a hand written, bound field catalog. Unnumbered specimens are represented in typed, unbound notes and are contained in two folders.
