Summary:

Waldo L. Schmitt's career as a botanist, but chiefly as an invertebrate zoologist, began in 1907 at the U. S. Department of Agriculture. He then worked at the United States National Museum, 1910-1957. Over the course of his career Schmitt came into the possession of correspondence, research notes, and papers of other naturalists who had preceded him as well as some who were his contemporaries. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, notes, images, and film.

Descriptive Entry

Waldo L. Schmitt's career as a botanist, but chiefly as an invertebrate zoologist, began in 1907 at the U. S. Department of Agriculture. He then worked at the United States National Museum (USNM), 1910-1957.Over the course of his career Schmitt came into the possession of correspondence, research notes, and papers of other naturalists who had preceded him as well as some who were his contemporaries. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, notes, images, and film.
