This accession consists of information regarding two exhibitions, "Shout in Silence: Visual Arts and the Deaf" and "Art as Language," that were organized by Rawley A. Silver and circulated by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES). These exhibitions presented works created by children and adults who were hearing impaired. The booklet contains copies of correspondence, newspaper clippings, and a catalog from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Also included in this accession are Silver's curriculum vita and publication list.
