Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of the exhibition research files of Judith K. Zilczer, Curator of the Department of Painting and Sculpture, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden (HMSG), 1990- . Also included are records dating back to when Zilczer was Historian/Associate Curator of the Museum, 1976-1987, and Associate Curator of Painting, 1987-1990.
The records primarily document planning of the "Willem de Kooning" exhibition, unit exhibitions (smaller exhibits which consist of HMSG collections), and loan exhibitions. Materials include memoranda and correspondence pertaining to catalog production; contracts and grants; exhibition installation, opening events, and tours; education and public programming; and budgetary information. In addition there is correspondence with artists, subject files on loan exhibitions, and photographs of Willem de Kooning and his artwork.
