They contain daily entries concerning Caudell's personal affairs and scientific work; notes on breeding experiments with Orthoptera, 1922-1926; a loan record for books, 1914-1935; and a key to his insect collection. Also included is some correspondence of Caudell, especially with Morgan Hebard and P. Wytsman

Historical Note

Andrew Nelson Caudell (1872-1936), orthopterist, joined the Division of Insects of the United States Department of Agriculture in 1898.
