This is very neat. Are they on display in Palm Court?

Hi James- I don't think so--I would think it would be more likely that if these objects are on display right now, they're in the museum's Popular Culture exhibit (http://americanhistory.si.edu/exhibitions/exhibition.cfm?key=38&exkey=1199), but we'll have to check with the museum and get back to you!

Hi James,

The shirt used to be displayed in the Artifact Walls case on the first floor of the National Museum of American History, but was rotated out last February. I am not sure when it might go back on exhibit.

I must have missed the Magnum P.I. exhibit when I last visited the National Museum of American History. What a shame, I absolutely loved that T.V. show as a child; it would have been cool to see actual artifacts from the show. I guess I can look forward to possibly seeing this display my next visit.

Hi Allison,

Unfortunately the artifacts from Magnum P.I. aren't currently on display. The Smithsonian has so many objects that not everything is on exhibit all the time. Luckily we have vast photographic resources we can exhibit online as a reminder of the fascinating collections in our holdings.

I really wish it was back on the floor. That is a real piece of Americana - love that show. I wonder just how long it takes to rotate things out at the Smithsonian or because of yearly additions, never?
