Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, Special Events Coordinator - Agency History

The history of special events at the Cooper-Hewitt clearly dates from an early time, but it does not seem to have been a formal position prior to 1991. Possibly the Department of Programs discharged these responsibilities. The Cooper-Hewitt's Special Events Coordinator functions under Development and Public Affairs to support the Museum's interactions with its members and the public. These include exhibition openings, fundraising, and development activities. Michele Raphoon was appointed as Membership and Special Events Manager and served 1991-1992. After a vacancy in 1993 Pamela Jo Haylock became Special Events Coordinator and served 1994-2000. Tara Morris followed, serving 2001- .
