The Division of Armed Forces History was created in 1984 by the merger of the Departments of Military History and Naval History. It ceased to be an administrative entity about 1994. Curators have included Philip K. Lundeberg, formerly of Naval History, 1984-1994; Harold D. Langley, formerly of Naval History, 1984-1994; Donald E. Kloster, formerly of Military History, 1984-1994; and Edward Clinton Ezell, formerly of Military History, 1984-1994.
