The Japanese animated series tells the story of master thief Lupin III and his cronies as they continue their globe-trotting exploits, with the stubborn Inspector Zenigata ever at their trail.

Relation to SI: 
Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette's Hope Diamond has brought much misfortune on its possessors. The diamond is now safeguarded by a maximum security device. Fujiko provokes Lupin to steal that diamond, but as soon as he enters the "Smithsonian Museum" to steal, he too encounters misfortune.
