This accession consists of the records of Helena Wright, Curator Emeritus of graphic arts, which document the planning, development, and production of exhibitions at the National Museum of American History (NMAH), as well as for the Smithsonian Institution Building and Smithsonian Institution Libraries. Some exhibitions were proposed but never opened. Earlier records date back to when Wright and the graphic arts collections were part of the Division of Information Technology and Society; the Division of Information Technology and Communications; and from when there was a Division of Graphic Arts. A few records also date before Wright's tenure at NMAH, when she was a curator of prints and manuscripts at the Merrimack Valley Textile Museum. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, and notes; proposals; budget summaries; schedules; object lists; scripts; contracts; floor plans; meeting agendas and minutes; special event, education and outreach program, and tour information; design development plans; visitor comments; press releases; website planning information; lecture papers; brochures; and drawings. Some materials are in electronic format.
