Summary

This accession consists of a reference set of the journal "Systematic Biology" and its predecessor "Systematic Zoology." The scholarly journal is published by the Society of Systematic Biologists, known as the Society of Systematic Zoology prior to 1992. The journal changed titles at the same time. It contains original contributions to the theory, principles, and methods of systematics as well as phylogeny, evolution, morphology, biogeography, paleontology, genetics, and the classification of all living things. Issues have been bound into volumes. A few early newsletters are also included in this accession.
