Summary

This accession consists of annual reports of the Office of the Registrar as well as other documents related to the management of collections at the National Museum of American History (NMAH). The office produced its first annual report in 1987 with the goal to increase the awareness of the NMAH collections management program by gathering together statistical and narrative descriptions of collections activities. The office included the following program areas: Record Files, Loans and Exhibits, Objects Processing, Central Catalog, and Special Projects. Staff documented in the records include Martha Morris, Registrar. Materials include annual reports, a bibliography, a disaster preparedness plan, guidelines and other related records.
