• In 2017 the Collections and Curatorial Affairs Department was separated into two separate departments, the Curatorial Affairs Department and the Collections, Archives, and Logistics Department. The Curatorial Affairs Department includes the Aeronautics Department, the Space History Department, and the Center for Earth and Planetary Studies. Peter L. Jakab, served as Chief Curator and head of the department from 2017-2020. In 2021 the department changed its name to the Research and Curatorial Affairs Department. Jeremy R. Kinney served as Associate Director, 2021- .
