Summary

This accession consists of the email account of Kate Haw, Director. Haw received her bachelor's degree in art history and religion from Sweet Briar College in Virginia and a master's degree in art history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to coming to the Smithsonian, Haw was vice president for development at the National Building Museum and before that was the executive director for development and administration at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in New York City and Skowhegan, Maine. Haw's email account consists of approximately 95,459 messages and covers the time period of March 2013 to January 2020. The correspondence documents Haw's work leading the Archives of American in its mission to collect, preserve and make available primary source material documenting the history of the visual arts in the United States. In addition, the correspondence documents Haw's oversight of the AAA offices in Washington, D.C. and in New York City, along with the Lawrence A. Fleischman Gallery permanent exhibition space at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Materials are in electronic format.
