Summary

This accession consists of the email account of Jeanne O'Toole, Director, Office of Protection Services. O'Toole's email account consists of approximately 47,525 messages and covers the time period of April 2014 to February 2021. As Director, O'Toole was responsible for protection and security services and operating programs for security management and criminal investigations for the Smithsonian Institution's museums, National Zoo, and research facilities in Washington, D.C.; New York; Virginia; Maryland; and Panama. O'Toole was also responsible for the physical security systems including anti-terrorism, collections storage, personnel security, credentialing and risk management programs at the Smithsonian. Before joining the Smithsonian, O'Toole began her career in 1987 with the United States Park Police. She received her master's degree from Columbia University and was a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy. Materials are in electronic format.
