This accession consists of the records of National Museum of American History (NMAH) directors John Gray, Brent D. Glass, and Spencer R. Crew; acting director Marc Pachter; and interim director Susan Fruchter, documenting museum administration, exhibition development, renovation projects, collections management, fundraising, public outreach programs, and activities of the NMAH board. The records, consisting of approximately 1,850 folders and 21,565 files, pertain to correspondence, memoranda, and notes; meeting agendas and minutes; personnel management; budget summaries; NMAH strategic planning; contractual agreements; museum policies, guidelines, and bylaws; proposals; staff reports, biographies, and questionnaires; lectures and presentations; awards; monthly work calendars; conferences, symposiums, workshops, and special events; museum publications; exhibition planning, scripts, floor plans, and design; the Blue Ribbon Commission report on NMAH; audits; visitor comments; the Public Space Renewal Project; surveys; accessibility; disaster management; images; and statistics.
