Summary

Jacob Samuel Joffe (b. 1886), chemist and soil scientist, New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station, New Brunswick, New Jersey. Joffe was a delegate to the First International Congress of Soil Science, Washington, D.C., June 1927. Joffe collaborated with Selman A. Waksman on soil microbiology research. This photograph was taken by Watson Davis onboard an excursion boat on the Potomac River.
