In recognition of his innovative and energetic contributions to the revitalization and preservation of America's heritage, Secretary S. Dillon Ripley (1964-1984) is presented the Thomas Jefferson Award in a ceremony at National Museum of History and Technology, now known as the National Museum of American History, with Roslyn W. Mallin, vice president of the National Society of Interior Designers, and Norman de Haan, president of the American Institute of Interior Designers.
