Summary

Addison Emery Verrill (1839-1926) was born in Greenwood, Maine, and died in Santa Barbara, CA. He was a zoologist who taught zoology at Yale, Sheffield Scientific School, and the University of Wisconsin. He worked for the U.S. Commission of Fish and Fisheries and was a curator at the Peabody Museum at Yale. Verrill also served as editor of the American Journal of Science.
