Front row (left to right): Alice Haines (1904-1974), Robert Spencer Ward (1906-1968), Katherine Tait Omwake (1902-1993), and Louise Omwake (1907-2008). The study was run by Moss, who was a George Washington University psychology professor. The seven student volunteers were Petrie, Hunt, Monroe, Haines, and the Omwake sisters. Entomologist and psychology graduate assistant William Middleton and his wife Alice served as chaperones throughout the weekend.
