Summary

The Diocleciano Cháves, Bro. Garnier, and Francis Whittier Pennell field book contains lists of botanical specimens the three men collected. Chaves' field notes are found on pages 1-16. Collector numbers 1-360 are included, and accession numbers are written in occasionally besides some specimens. Although his notes are undated, it is presumed they are from the 1920s (possibly 1926) because of the dates of these specimens in the National Museum Herbarium database. Field notes of Bro. Garnier are found on pages 19-58. Collector numbers 1-1200 are included. Based on information from the Herbarium database, these were likely collected circa 1935. Pennell's field notes begin on page 100, continue until page 186, and continue on pages 61-90. His collector numbers 16761-20280 are included. Pennell collected these specimens in Mexico in 1934.
