This accession includes field notes, clippings, correspondence, and maps from Edgar Alexander Mearns' field trips to Africa, including British East Africa, Mexico, and parts of the United States encompassing the years 1892-1910, and including the Smithsonian-Roosevelt African Expedition. Materials include descriptions of plant distribution at the stations, notes on lereus gigantens, and a list of associate collectors and notes by W. Andrew Archer, 1966.
