This image of Professor and Mrs. H.C. Hamilton being photographed by psychologist Weston Ashmore Bousfield (1904-1986) was made by Marjorie Van de Water at an American Psychological Association meeting, September 1937. Bousfield, whose research focused on human memory, was on the Tufts College faculty from 1921 to 1938, and then became head of the psychology department at the University of Connecticut. Given the context of the photograph (and that BousfieldŒs name was misspelled on the original label), it is likely that one or both of the Hamiltons were psychologists but that the initials written on the accompanying caption may be incorrect.
