Mathematician Katharine Pember Darwin (1901-1986) (at left) was married to physicist Charles Galton Darwin (1887-1962) (center), director of the British National Physical Laboratory during World War II; Watson Davis (1896-1967) (at right) was director of Science Service. This photograph was probably taken when the Darwins attended the dedication of the new Science Service headquarters in Washington, December 1941.
