Summary

From 1903-1923, geologist Joseph Augustine Cushman (1881-1949) was curator at Boston Society of Natural History. When he resigned in 1923, he built a lab behind his house in Sharon, Massachusetts, where he conducted independent research and consulted with oil companies. His collections were donated to the National Museum of Natural History in 1949.
