Summary

This accession consists of approximately 19,500 email messages of Olga M. Viso who held a variety of positions within the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden (HMSG), including Associate Curator in the Dept. of Public Programs/Curatorial Division, 1998-2000; Curator of Contemporary Art in the Curatorial Department, 2000-2003; Deputy Director, 2003-2005; and Director, 2005-2007. These records document her curatorial activities as well as administration of HMSG. Topics documented in this accession include special events, the HMSG Board of Trustees, exhibitions, research, professional activities, acquisitions, external affairs, facilities, and budget. This accession includes only those messages residing in Viso's "Inbox," including email received and sent email that she forwarded to herself or on which she copied herself; however the majority of messages are sent mail that were moved into her "Inbox." This accession does not include email filed into other folders. Viso's email account was not immediately closed upon her departure. All materials are in electronic format.
