Summary

Alberto Celaya (b. 1885) was a Sonoran rancher who, in 1890-1910, assisted Swedish ethnologist Carl Lumholtz in exploration of the Mexican Altar Desert region. By 1930s, when this photograph was made, he was a police officer and rancher.
