Consists of news releases put forth by the Office of Public Affairs, previously known as the Office of Information and the Office of Public Information, to publicize and disseminate information about exhibitions, programs, research, events, important visitors, lectures, musical and theatrical performances, symposia, and scholarly and administrative appointments at the Smithsonian Institution. Also included are photographs of museum buildings, events, and exhibit construction and installation. Materials include press releases, news indexes, microfiche, and other related background information. Some press releases are in Spanish. Some materials are in electronic format.
