Summary

Consists of records documenting the history and organization of the Association of Curators at the National Museum of American History (NMAH). Formed in October of 1963 when NMAH was known as the Museum of History and Technology, the Association was formed to consider and promote matters of general interest and importance to the curatorial community at NMAH in regards to scholarly and curatorial responsibilities. The Association provided a forum in which members could discuss and study areas of common concern as well as served as a place where joint opinions regarding these types of matters could be expressed. Membership in the association was open to curators, associate curators, and assistant curators of NMAH. Materials include memoranda, correspondence, organization charts, minutes of meetings, notebooks, and ballots.
