Consists of records which document the planning, development, and production of exhibitions produced by the Division of Information Technology and Society and its predecessors at the National Museum of American History. Particularly well documented is the exhibition "Science in American Life" which opened in 1994 and whose chief curator was Arthur P. Molella, Chair of the Department of the History of Science and Technology, as well as photographic history collection exhibitions. Staff respresented in these records include curators Paul Forman, Arthur P. Molella, Lester Clark Lewis, Bernard S. Finn, Alexander J. Wedderburn, and Eugene Ostroff; assistant curator David Haberstich; museum specialist Elliot N. Sivowitch; museum technician Elliott Hawkins; project manager Kay Youngflesh; and photo specialist Peter Liebhold. Some records date from when the curators were part of the former Division of Graphic Arts, the Division of Graphic Arts and Photography, the Division of Electricity and Modern Physics, the Division of Electricity and Nuclear Energy, the Division of Electricity, and also from when the museum was known as the Museum of History and Technology and the National Museum of History and Technology. Additionally, some records date to when the division was part of the United States National Museum. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, notes; reports; meeting agendas and minutes; scripts, contracts and agreements; museum loan information; proposals; evaluations; budget summaries; design submittals; floor plans; drawings; photographs, slides, and negatives; symposium information; newspaper clippings; brochures; exhibition catalogs; audiotapes; videotapes; motion picture film; videodiscs; tour information; and supporting documentation. Some materials are in electronic format.
