Summary

These records consist of contract agreements concerning research projects and sponsored projects between the Smithsonian and various institutions, annual reports, published papers, research and study reports, correspondence and memoranda, financial reports, newspaper clippings and computer printouts. Most records were created during the time the office was known as the Office of Contracts and Grants. Record dates overlap the tenure of the office under the old name, Office of Contracts and Grants, and the new name, Office of Sponsored Projects.
