Consists of records documenting the history of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, from the original collection and installations to the establishment of new programs and anniversary events. Some materials pre-date the museum and were transferred with the collections from Joseph H. Hirshhorn. Materials include correspondence; memoranda; object lists; docent handbooks; legislative documents; checklists; floor plans; architectural drawings; policies; information about the Joseph H. Hirshhorn bequests; Board of Trustees bylaws and meeting minutes; agreements with Joseph H. Hirshhorn and the Joseph H. Hirshhorn Foundation; object and installation images; collection management documents; architectural drawings; videotapes; announcements; phonograph records; and related materials.
