Summary

Consists of records that document programs for teachers, students, and the general public pertaining to the understanding and use of museums. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, notes, program literature, films, videotapes, audiotapes, slides, phonograph records, cassette recordings, loan information, staff photographs, brochures, pamphlets, Smithsonian collecting cards, and case study reports from the current office as well as its predecessors: the Office of Museum Programs, the Center for Museum Studies, and the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education. Some materials are in electronic format.
