Consists of records that document routine administrative activities of the Freer Gallery of Art prior to the complete incorporation of the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery of Art. Included in the daily routine were: filling orders for facsimiles of photographs; responding to reference requests seeking information about art and artifacts falling under the domain of the Freer's expertise; granting permission to publish to those wanting to publish images purchased from the Freer; and correspondence regarding Freer publishing. Materials include brochures, clippings, correspondence, memoranda, photographs, telegrams, and reports.
