Summary

Consists of records documenting dignitaries and other visitors, special events, and the construction of both the Freer Gallery of Art and the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery. Images prior to 1979 were reproduced either from old negatives or copied directly from old photographs. Files were created and maintained by Richard Louie, who served as Executive Assistant to the Director; Assistant Director, Administration; Assistant Director, Freer Gallery of Art; and Associate Director before his untimely death in 1990. Materials include photographs, slides, clippings and related material.
