Smithsonian Year, 1988-1995
An Assistant Director for Exhibitions and Facilities was first appointed in 1988. The title was changed to Associate Director, Exhibitions and Facilities, in 1995. Patrick H. Sears served in these posts, 1988- .
The purpose of the office is to oversee the custodial work and exhibition production of the Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery.
